Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Eerily reminiscent of when Hitler succeeded in barricading The Reichstag and forcing through the Enabling Act in 1933, which was the "legal" basis for his dictatorship.

Only Trump did not succeed, thank goodness.
No yet but that doesn't mean he couldn't try again in four years, the reason impeaching him is detrimental to our democracy. Hugo Chavez first attempted coup failed too but a few years later he was successful so the US Congress shouldn't underestimate this guy is a threat now and will be in the future.

He will be, but the time to deal with that is in ten days time - don't do it now, when he has power, unless they (Pelosi et al) know they can take him out now. He has already got people killed and, based on that utterance, is not at all arsed if more die.

Get Biden behind that desk first, then crush Trump mercilessly.

It is a very short time but Senate Republicans managed to confirm a Supreme Court judge in as many days. So if they really want to, and knowing the risk Trump presents to our country, they could certainly do the same. Even if they don't move on to approve his trial, I agree with Adam Schiff that it is essential to force Republicans to take a stand so if anything were to occur from now until inauguration they can be hold accountable for their inaction and for putting our country at risk.

Question from a non American... Well sort of American but from the great white north.

Is the national guard the military? If not, what's the difference? Cause the dudes coming for DC look fully loaded and armored like the guys in Afghanistan and Syria do...

"A person who is active duty is in the military full time. They work for the military full time, may live on a military base, and can be deployed at any time. Persons in the Reserve or National Guard are not full-time active duty military personnel, although they can be deployed at any time should the need arise."

To be honest, one of my best friends has been in the National Guard for well over a decade, and I still don’t fully understand their role. But yes, at least some of them are full on military. He spent about a year deployed to Iraq back in 04 or 05, and his unit was mobilized to help put down the BLM protests over the summer.
