Just saw the post from Parler CEO saying they’re off the server tomorrow and probably won’t be back up for a week as Microsoft and google won’t take them.

Without wanting to defend Pence's actions, I suspect he may want to appear as reasoned and neutral as possible in case the impeachment causes chaos.

Looking at it from the outside, Trump is cornered with many allies walking away from him: he's isolated and his potency is either being diminished or shackled.

Yes he's still got immense power and responsibilities as POTUS, but I mean in the terms of what he's able to do in this last week and a bit of his presidency.

For the greater good of the party, they may want to shepherd him towards the final day without too much controversy as evoking the 25th will have an impact.

It may split the party even more than it is, cause a massive political uproar, with potential for a huge fall out in the long-term, and possible civil unrest.

If the impeachment does gain real momentum, Pence needs to be able to stand up to the plate and work with the Republicans and the opposition...

... hence the advice I suspect he's getting. That or he could be simply trying to save his own skin.
