TBF I'd be willing to bet a small sum of money that those guys were only pardoned to distract the media from him pardoning the people convicted as part of the Muller enquiry. He's never (at least as far as I can remember) uttered any comment about them before now.

I'd believe that in a lot of cases, but not with these - he doesn't even think that about them; he just thinks its a big dump he can put out that will smell far worse than the other dumps he has put out. I wouldn't put it past him to pardon nonces next, right before he pardons his kids.
One of the Fox news hosts, Pete Hegseth, has been pretty vocal on them both in public and private, he’s probably responsible for the Navy Seal Gallagher pardon as well and convinced Trump that his base wants them. Could well be correct unfortunately.

I'd be surprised if that were the case. I think most people already assumed the Mueller-related pardons were forthcoming. By contrast I think the pardon of the Blackwater murderers has caught many by surprise, as it seems gratuitously abject.
