There a lot of reports in the media and medical literature.

One complication of COVID is atrial and venous clots. They can cause lack of blood flow that leads to amputation or death, if the clots occur in organs.
I see many patients going home on blood thinners after admission for COVID to prevent clot formation.

Can't recall his name, but there was the Broadway actor/dancer in the news for a leg amputation - complication from COVID. He eventually died.
