You claimed they were being anti democratic by protesting. You don't understand our democracy very well. You think what they are doing is wrong.

Protesting against Trumps views or policies is democratic. Protesting that the result was not legitimate because they don't happen to like Trumps views or policies isn't democratic.

What's this I'm seeing about thousands of pro trump bikers going to DC? Should be fun if the tolerant, progressive anti trump types cause their usual violence

Trump is a misogynist and white supremacist sympathiser...deny he has links with the far right ?? Show me contrary evidence please...or report me

The burden of proof is on you old bean. But having said that are you suggesting Hilary Clinton is innocent of all the above?

I find it quite strange that some of Trump's supporters in this thread seem to not be able to say a bad thing about him, from his personality to his politics. It's as though, and perhaps a supporter can correct me, the dream of having such a right-wing candidate elected as president has come true and thus clouded any judgement of what a self-respecting, decent politician actually looks like.

His hair is awful.

Questioning the legitimacy of a winner who received 3m votes less than the loser seems reasonable (hey, democracy!) especially given his closeness to a historic enemy of the USA who interfered in the democratic process.

Trump questioned Obama's legitimacy based on much less. Were you Trump apologists jumping up and down about that assault on democracy? No, thought not.

I think Trumps a pretty horrible and offensive personality and a bully but hope that he may do some good, positive things (while I hope he avoids the worst things).

That said if the popular vote counted and not the electoral college I have little doubt that (as he has said) he would have campaigned differently and won that too.

If the Russian hacking was true I doubt it had any substantial influence on the vote and in any case Hilary had pretty much the whole weight of the establishment and most of the media with her.

What I am interested to see if he can do is use his business skills and toughness to protect or create more jobs for disadvantaged Americans and get a cheaper price for medical drugs from being tough with "big pharma". Also reevaluating long standing conflicts or wars. Even possibly getting a middle east peace agreement.

What I fear is racist policies (either directly or by neglect), new wars and conflicts and environmental damage.

I am excited he is truly different and might well do some good things but fearful of the ugly side of his views and policies.

I kind of agree with you but remember the foreign policies of most "self-respecting decent politicians" have caused hundreds and thousands of deaths and suffering around the world (most recently in the middle east).

This is why I believe in giving him a chance to see what he will do before slagging him off totally.
