Current Affairs Donald Trump POS: Judgement cometh and that right soon

Not a lot of “on the record” quotes from people, but within the context of what he’s done and said in the past, most notably about John McCain, they certainly seem believable to me.

Prior to this spring, would you have found it conceivable that an American President would stand behind the podium at The White House and suggest that maybe people could inject themselves with bleach or sunlight to cure a virus? Me either, but sure enough, it happened. I’m to the point now where almost nothing he says can truly shock me anymore.

Those bits yes, but they seem to be things that are only there to support the rest. The Kelly bits (for example) are so bad it’s really hard to see Kelly taking a job with him after that.

I mean, to say that at his sons graveside? If he did I am amazed he wasn’t battered immediately.

Worth mentioning that there's a passage in Mary Trump's book talking about how Fred Trump saw people who signed up for the Armed Forces as suckers... and that this feeling transferred to Donald, who told Don Jr he'd disown him, when Jr went through a period of wanting to join up.

Is it? Come on mate, I know you've been paying more attention than that over the last 5 years

The man is surrounded by military figures, not just brass but regular guys - if he said / did the worst things he’s allegedly done there I find it really hard to believe we wouldn’t already know (and that he would have said those things publicly).

I can't even hate on Trump for dodging the draft, screw getting sent to other side of the world to fight some pointless war in Vietnam for a bunch of suits.

Having said that he should probably STFU when it comes to criticising those who weren't lucky enough to be in a position to dodge the draft.

Yea, with you on the draft but he could have become a conscientious objector.
And it should have ruled him out for the position of commander and chief of the armed forces.

If he wasn't so morally inconsistent on the subject you'd have a point mate, he is absolutely fine with others dying for money and power

Additional reporting from WaPo:

A former senior administration official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly, confirmed to The Washington Post that the president frequently made disparaging comments about veterans and soldiers missing in action, referring to them at times as “losers.”

In one account, the president told senior advisers that he didn’t understand why the U.S. government placed such value on finding soldiers missing in action because they had performed poorly and gotten caught and deserved what they got, according to a person familiar with the discussion.

Trump believed people who served in the Vietnam War must be “losers” because they hadn’t gotten out of it, according to a person familiar with the comments. Trump also complained bitterly to then-Chief of Staff John F. Kelly that he didn’t understand why Kelly and others in the military treated McCain, who had been imprisoned and tortured during the Vietnam War, with such reverence. “Isn’t he kind of a loser?” Trump asked, according to the person familiar with Trump’s comments.
