Correct. One is for people who actually need help due to age or a condition... the other is just "free" money for literally everyone to help boost economy or help make ends meet until you go back to work. but no point in arguing because we were raised different and have much different viewpoint on things :)
Finally something we can agree on.

My parents were conservative catholics. Doesn’t mean I am.

I just like to provide a different viewpoint than majority of people on here in the current affairs. Nice to hear other side of things than to constantly hear the same ole viewpoints. Nothing personal just expressing an opinion

It's not a thread I visit often but it just seems a little crass to be gloating about how you're benefiting at the minute and splashing the cash at a time when millions are struggling, by all means do what you like with your money but it almost seems like you're lauding it over people a bit.

We socialize the risk/cost for the most expensive, most likely to need care and have a free-market for those less likely to need hospitalization so a very small number of people can profit off of rationing care when it is, in fact, needed by those people.

I doubt you and I were raised different but clearly have a different viewpoint on the efficiency/wisdom of this system.

Definitely not lauding over the money. Trust me, I dont really feel like working but im a healthcare professional so I must show up. Im not making what some nurses are making 5-10k a week but grateful for my job. And the money is just kind of silly TBH. 1200 really isnt much so might as well make use for how I see it. Ive been sponsoring a family with my wife to help with groceries, gas, and some bills since I am employed

Yeah. Crazy money going out in certain areas. Some hospitals are offering a sign bonus of 5-10k and then with the diffs, hazard pay, time and a half, and pick up bonuses.

Ours will get their weekly clap tonight, and earn in a year what your will earn by the end of the month. Unless our idea of a nurse is different to the US.

Well since New Orleans is one of the hot spots, they need to entice people to work. My wife received 4 offers of exactly this but is unable to to other obligations

So a nurse can just jump from one hospital to another for more cash? Almost like a freelancer?

Owning people by err.. being a terrible person, the trump army way

If you are a contract nurse yes! But most hospitals are trying to retain you by offering those diffs like I was mentioning. My buddy get 300$ to start for every day he works, plus time and a half, hazard pay. He gets 85$ an hour after working 12 hour shifts. This doesnt include the overtime you will pick up if you work an extra day. Nurses should be getting paid better to begin with so I hope after this mess, they take a stand for what they deserve
