Difficult to know how to feel about that - I mean Fauci appears to be a man who knows his stuff, communicates well, sticks with what must be a very trying situation so he can help others and acknowledges faults and known flaws in the system. If there is anyone over there that you’d say people could have confidence in then it’s him, and getting rid of him for a flunky will probably cost thousands of people their lives.

On the other hand sacking him now for acknowledging those faults - followed by the smear campaign that you’d think will follow from the usual sources - is such a Trump thing to do right now that feeling upset about it is a waste of effort. If that doesn’t make people realise what is going on then nothing will.

It’s a big ideological swing, but not all that uncommon for America. In the last 100 years, only once has a President been elected to two terms and then succeeded by a member of his own party. It's awfully lucky that Dr Fauci walks a higher path than the dumb hayseeds that vote trump, he clearly takes his profession and obligations very seriously and puts them before ego. When he is thrown under the bus once this is over I hope he knows just how many appreciate his tireless work and the calming effect the multitude of interviews he is still undertaking gives
