If only there was a central authority figure who could arrange for a single buyer of equipment (avoiding bidding wars) and then co-ordinate distribution between the states....and arrange for increases in production.
We're a pretty disgusting country in all honesty and this is just revealing the depths of it more clearly than usual.
What I've learned is the idea that most people are 100% motivated by selfish interests. The idea that doing the right thing is what people see as important is more or less dead here. Yes there are good people around, but not nearly enough. It's like Capitalism isn't best in times of crisis. Republicans hate Socialism except of course when they approve unanimously a $2 trillion stimulus package.

Theres been 25 amendments to your constitution? I might just bank that for when this is over and we start talking about why you cant have gun control because of the constitution25th Amendment stuff.
Just finished watching it on replay
Trump spent most of his briefing pushing hydroxychloroquine as a miracle drug. When a reporter asked what Fauci thought, Trump did not allow Fauci to talk. Earlier in the day Fauci had pointed out that hydroxychloroquine can have dangerous side effects. It is used for people where the need for it is considered to be worth the risk. Trump wants to just give it to everybody, even though nobody knows it’s effect, if any, on Coronavirus sufferers.
Runner up: when a reporter began a question about supplies of respirators, Trump stopped him, called him Fake News (guess he was from Associated Press) and almost sprinted out the door. What a troll. I am lucky I don’t live in US.
