Isn't it coming too late? Will public opinion change so quickly... given none of this new information will come out any time soon as a trial would take months and months. Maybe it's looking at the election in 2024 and hoping they can get a Democrat in then?
Define "public opinion"... because by most definitions there has never been a moment when public opinion WASN'T against Trump

It matters a whole lot. if he’s impeached he goes on trial, and depending on what articles if impeachment are brought against Him, a whole lot of information he’s been fighting to surprises could be made public.
he may not be thrown out of office but senators from the likes of Arizona, Maine, Alaska will have a hard time getting re elected. A few more red states will turn purple and the GOP will take another pasting down ballot in 2020.
There are at least 5 GOP Senators in toss up races with well-funded and attractive opponents. There is only 1 Democrat (in Alabama) who looks truly vulnerable.

The political pressure on those 5 GOP Senators is immense. The impeachment case puts them in a no-win situation and if all 5 of them lose, which is a distinct possibility, the balance of power in the Senate shifts.

yup, and hopefully if Sessions keeps hitching his wagon to Trump it'll help Jones in Alabama.
The level of brown nosing from Sessions after the way trump treated him is unreal.

I believe this article is depressingly accurate
But there are two impeachment hearings unfolding in the nation's capital. One, carried out by the Democrats, is designed to ascertain the truth as to whether Trump sought a "quid pro quo" deal with Ukraine to get the country to investigate Joe Biden and the 2016 presidential election in exchange for aid money. The other, being carried out simultaneously by the Republicans, is quite different. Instead of trying to learn the truth, it seeks to create not just a counternarrative but a completely separate reality.
Each round of GOP questioning is not meant to interrogate the witnesses, which today included Sondland, but instead to create moments that can be flipped into Fox News segments, shared as bite-size Facebook posts, or dropped into 4chan threads. Their alternate universe — built from baseless online conspiracy theories and reading the tea leaves of Trump’s Twitter feed — dominates Fox News and Facebook. And the Republicans’ strategy, as confusing and bizarre as it may seem to those on the outside, is working.

Primarily she has underminded their arguments but she certainly doesn’t suffer fools gladly and there are quite a few on the GOP bench.

lol at his reaction..i believe he mentioned he fought for the us.. if true and he is someone who fought to defend the country in the military i would expect him tobe able to see thru this republican nonsense but apprently not..
