Yep, when asked at it this was Trump’s response.
The "oh, if only the Russians had said that the dirt was STOLEN of course we would have gone to the FBI" scenario implicit in his statement doesn't seem very likely does it - especially as iirc by the time of the meeting the Trump campaign had been briefed by national security officials that Russia had hacked government in general, and the democrats in particular, repeatedly.
