I'm ostensibly on your side on Trump: I don't think he's as bad as some of you make out, I even think he's been a necessary glitch...but long-term his Presidency and the culture that surrounds him isn't healthy. I hope the focus before/during the mid-terms will be less anti-Trump and more pro-Democrats. I honestly believe that's the key to a positive mid-terms result.

If you lived in the states I think you would view things a little differently. When you watch political ads here the vast majority of the ads coming out from the Republican party are attack ads demonizing their opponent. Very little is said what they stand for other than Trump.

The majority of the Democrat ads I have seen send a positive message about what that candidate plans to do. Sure there are some attack ads, but I have not seen any specifically mentioning Trump.

Some reporting that it makes a difference if he resigns or if he is fired as if he resigns voluntarily it means Trump can install a temp replacement of his own. Would be in the White House interest to say he resigned and Axios is one of their favourite places to leak...

thanks for the clarification LL, didn't know that about Axios but makes sense. Thought it was strange that Rosenstein should go so meekly.

All very confusing at the moment so hard to tell who is correct but this is probably a fair reaction

This is so messed up. The whole "timeline" is getting someone in Rosenstein's place, pushing Kavanaugh through,(then the general idea is it either is one/other or splits off) either suppressing or shutting down the Mueller investigation, goes to SC, new SC justice Kavanaugh is now deciding vote on whether a President can get investigated. Or get their asses handed to them in the elections, claim the elections were hacked and, therefor, invalid, suspend election results, goes to SC and they side with Trump.

Even typing that up made me feel like a whacko 'conspiracy theorist' but damned if doesn't sound PLAUSIBLE from what Trump has been doing. The whole Republican side of the government is just straight up projectionism. "OBAMA IS GOING TO CANCEL ELECTIONS!! ...hey guys, that sounds like a great idea btw"

If he resigns Trump can replace him with the A.G. I think, if he's fired he can't. Either way Trump is gonna get trigger happy and halt the Mueller investigation. He won't be able to help himself, eve the GOP will have to call foul at that stage.
