I'm genuinely dismayed by the result but much more by the chain of events and the subsequent blame game that got us here.

There is no way a developed, intelligent country like America with all its systems and processes should have had two candidates of that miserable calibre to choose from. I struggle to think of a single losing candidate from previous US elections who wouldn't have beaten either of them in a run off situation.

The fact that the Clinton campaign helped create the conditions by which Trump could even conceivably be on the opposition ticket is deplorable. It makes Cameron's gamble look paltry in comparison.

Aye. If Clinton had any sort of guts or self-respect, she would have seen that her own nomination was against the interests of her own party.

Not true, the popular vote would suggest that there was enormous levels of mobilization considering the lacklustre candidate, Reid has been doing a great job getting the minorities to the polls for the last couple of elections
