Donald Trump for President Thread

From a personal perspective, a trump win today (impossible as it may be) would give america a massive shake up politically, and force better candidates to stand over simply anyone.

Makes the whole thing a bit of a joke though when Trump can stand with zero public support and still even be in the race when it has got to the point it seems where people must feel embarrassed in the general sense to say they want to vote for him. Just yeah, like anyone who thinks about voting UKIP outside of racist circles would not dare mention it to anyone else.

I've seen this line of thought around Brexit as well, that it'll shake the system up and we'll get a slightly better, but sensible candidate once Trump/Brexit has happened. The alternative is that this normalises awfulness and things get a whole lot worse.

My train of thought regarding this was always that the parties were setting the election up to be a bush vs clinton affair and Trump blew that out the water when everyone seemed to rally behind him publicly, in jest as it may have been. Not sure how true that actually is from an english perspective on the matter but for the past few years i got the impression that was the plan. Which again in turn makes the political system a joke when they are hand picking the candidates simply on name.

Plus again from my perspective, the most difficult thing to do is create change in a country where hundreds hold significant power away from the name of president.
