I love the way Clinton is now 'demanding' that the FBI release whatever data they have immediately. This is the same woman who has deliberately deleted thousands of emails and refused to help the authorities in their investigations. When Trump said she should be locked up, he was spot on.....politicians all over the world now seem to doing nothing except taking their people for a ride while financially enhancing themselves.......what a shower.....

It is this kind of thinking that leaves the West so popular in the Muslim world. Yes, there is a difference between targeting the families of terrorists and pretending that civilians are accidentally killed in carefully targeted drone strikes. The first is more honest.
No I'm sorry one is the reality of war and one is a war crime unbecoming of a civilised society .
I'm not defending the killing of civilians in drone strikes , I am recognising that it may happen (I'm aware it does ) . If trump is to target families what are we going to see then ? The bloke advocates torture which is bad enough but defends it even when it's not going to work as 'they deserve it '. That's mind boggling

Of course . War is terrible and horrific , do you think there are never accidental (that's a terrible word for what we're discussing actually ) casualties ?
The test of a civilised society is that it does all it can to avoid such untargeted or unintentional fatalities rather than, like Trump , set it as a goal .

When USA bombed the hell out of Baghdad, was that becoming of a civilised society?....if they use drones now, in the full knowledge that they will kill thousands of innocent civilians, is that becoming of a civilised society?....
All wars are sold to the public as Good guys against Bad guys....it helps us all turn a blind eye to it....sure as hell doesn't mean the 'Good guys' (typically the rich powerful nation) don't do some horrible civilised things....
Of course, these actions are "the reality of war" whilst the retaliation is an act of terrorism....

Hillary Clinton accused of handing out 30,000 classified emails to trick or treaters.......
The FBI are investigating Hillary Clinton after trick or treaters found classified documents in their hallowe’en baskets.
A group of Washington, DC, prepubescents found the documents after visiting the Clintons’ where they were given milk, Reece’s pieces, and a 1,800 page report of US special forces activity in Libya.
Clinton has denied acting improperly and insists that all appropriate security protocols were upheld when she gave out troop movements to unsecured children high on sugar.
One child is understood to have found nuclear launch codes written on a Hershey bar wrapper, which aides insisted was well within tolerances for secure communications.
President Obama has publically supported Clinton, saying that he knew she was going out Trick or Treating and he was not aware of any wrongdoing.
“The lady was very kind and said my pirate costume was the bestest so she would email me the minutes of a meeting between the State Department and Iranian nuclear officials,” said 8-year old Simon-Bob Williams.
“But she breaked her promise and just sended me plans for a new missile defence system in Estonia.
“I was very upset but I still hope she beats the wicked orange goblin in the election.”
A spokesman for the FBI said they regretted the timing of the investigation but if Secretary Clinton didn’t want investigating by the authorities then she should stick to making inappropriate sexual comments about children, like her opponent.
In breaking news, Clinton campaign HQ has been evacuated after an unidentified ‘white substance’ was found on the premises.
Initial reports suggest it was found on a dress.

How do you extrapolate that from that I'm saying ? I'm opposed to the killing of civilians , I'm saying that if you target an area in a bombing campaign even if we say for clarity one approved by a unamous vote at the UN there is a risk , actually likelihood , of noncombatants or civilians being killed. That is a terrible thing but it's a fact , can we agree on that ?
Donald trump wants to execute the families of terrorists . I'm sorry they are different things , I accept the civilians are just as dead but they are different things .

This is the point, though. Civilians are killed either way, but to argue that one way is better / more moral just because you claim that didn't intend to kill them whilst intending to kill someone else is absurd. It is akin to the Saudi's claiming that their strike on that funeral was a mistake because their target wasn't there.
The test of a civilized society is that it does things, especially use of deadly force, that are fair, proportionate and are subject to legal scrutiny and challenge. I haven't seen any evidence that drone strikes are.
I'm going out now so I'm not avoiding a conversation , I completely accept your point but you genuinely Can't see a difference between our conversation and Trumps suggestion ? Honestly ? It's clear from your well thought out answers you can , I'm not here to argue for drone strikes I've absolutely no intention of doing that but to see no differential between them and a state policy of the execution of families seems absurd to me .
Anyway not only am i off out I don't want to derail the thread .
