Yeah, that about nails it. I think DCL and for example - Michael Keane - embody a period in Everton's time when maybe not the 'best' players also took on a lot of responsibility in a side / club undergoing major flux, mismanagement under grim ownership. Both lads had some OK spells and moments in that time, alongside some pretty long, lean outright worrying periods, too.Yet, we tolerate and overpay players who score the same amount and that's fine? He's an average footballer but we genuinely overpaid an excuse of a footballer because "he runs"And no doubt pay good wedge to other way past it players over 35.
Again, I agree on the overall and it's ran its course, but there's no reason to pretend things aren't what they were while he was here as soon as he's out the door. He got dogs abuse everywhere and for everything - like "he has no hunger", "no application" while he's breaking his bones throwing himself at lost cause balls and all that, because he dared put on clothing gammons didn't likeWe're in a crap period in the team's history and we had no proper good players or managers for several years and nearly got relegated due to them, yet there's a few that have been singled out while producing as you'd expect for where we are for other reasons and he is/was one of them.
As a fanbase, nothing brings us as much joy as hating our own players for no reason basically.
Anyway, he's off, bygones be bygones and all that. His parting message was class for what it's worth.
They have form for signing players who immediately get injured. Stranger things have happened, that's for sure. The most West Ham signing ever.
Is everyone going to boo Coleman as he is always injured = NO so the vindictive posters just give it a rest & wish him well ......Nobody knew it. So for 20 seconds or so a frustrated fanbase got it wrong. But you're jumping all over the isolated incident with crap like there is a large section of Evertons fanbase who abuse him.
Why if thats the case does it not happen every other week where this large section congregate. Goodison park.
Bit weird this, mate.
Didn't call you a kopite Frenk, just mentioned that I've had at least four kopites in the last 24 hours make the same pointMate, I’m no kopite thanks, I watched us through the 80’s, 90’s and so on. I loved big Dunc’s attitude and do hold him in high regard for how much he loves the club. For me however it doesn’t make him a legend, it just means he’s a good player who loves the club.
It wasn't quite like that though. I was there, defending him. As we instantly knew he'd been smashed in the face. Many around us thought he'd pulled something again/was being soft. Which led to arguments amongst us all and then people being sheepish when they realised. The majority made sure they knew.Apologies, you're right. My memory failed me. Imagine travelling to Villa and booing your striker when he breaks his cheekbone challenging for the ball. There's no 'context' that makes that acceptable.
Can see him going somewhere like Rangers or some random team in Serie A.
Maybe Saudi Arabia, then his wife can join the cast of "Wags in Dubai"I would go abroad if I were him. Pressure is off and it gives him the chance to build himself a reputation as long as he stays fit. Germany wouldn’t be bad.
Leeds are after him - who do we play first ?He's the most West Ham signing ever.
