I think Moyes wants him and has possibly got DCL a package that works - but he’s trying to get TFG to sign off on it

There’s not many strikers out there who would choose to come to us right now given our recent struggles.
I get the feeling Moyes is keen to keep DCL. Had he been fit I`d say he`d have stuck with him instead of Beto. I`d stick with Beto as a starter and look to bring in another CF that can take over that roll if Beto stops scoring, but I`d let Dom go to pastures new, even if we don`t find that CF before the end of the window. Our big problem for so long has been having players that are sub standard or too injury prone on our books.

We bid £30 million for Delap and are very clearly actively persuing another number 9.

Think it’s highly unlikely he stays unless neither party have found a dance partner come mid August.

The fact they haven’t announced anything regarding him says to me that there’s a contract offer still on the table, and he’s waiting until the very last moment to see if he gets a better offer. He clearly hasn’t had a better offer as of yet, but I hope if he hasn’t made his mind up by the 30th then we swiftly snatch that contract offer away and move on.

I'm surprised we haven't heard either way yet on this. I'm guessing we have made an offer and the player is still considering it, or at least hasn't rejected it. Pre-season is only a couple of weeks away so we need to start making decisions on players. If they are not willing re-sign then we need to move on sign replacements.

By all accounts our main striker target is keen to come to us so not sure that’s an issue.

I do think Moyes would keep DCL if he could and that’s why even now nothing is announced, which tells you the offer is on the table. I think if DCL did turn round and take it Moyes would happily off Beto instead, even though it wouldn’t be what I would do.

Beto only really started games after DCL pulled up in the Brighton game, and the first chance Moyes got he put Broja into the team. I`d like to see how Beto would do over a full season starting up front. He can find the net, works really well with Alcarez, stays fit.

Oh there's plenty but the ones we want are probably wanted by half the league and all the top European leagues. We need to gamble on a good young striker and hope we get him before he explodes like we did with Lukaku, but I suppose mostly it'll be underwhelming like Chermitti.

He'll get offers near deadline day.

But like you say, we should have a deadline on our offer

If he didn't accept it last year, why would he accept it now? Hes obviously got an offer from somewhere and he will quietly exit the backdoor and blame the fans for a bit of his exit i bet, his arl feller hates us. Can't blame him tbh.
