2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I can’t stand Dyche but Chris Wood scored double figures every season under him.

DCL’s record in real football matches in front of fans under a succession of different managers is an absolute embarrassment. He just isn’t very good and at 28 years old it’s just time to accept it really.
Indeed. Dyche was brought in to save us at our lowest ebb by hook or by crook - not prioritise the scoring stats of regularly unavailable number nines. He basically did that. As for DCL, he has reached his ceiling. The only way is down for him.

I mean Sean Dyche was obviously a great manager for strikers to play under. Look at all the goals his other strikers scored in that period... Oh wait.
Yes, let's look at all the premier league goals he's managed to get out of the world class strikers he had at Burnley....

The man had Chris Wood scoring double figures four years in a row

Had Ashley Barnes scoring 9 and 12 premier goals a season.

Had Danny Ings scoring 11 in his first season in the premier league.

Even had Sam Vokes hit 10 for Burnley one season.

These are obviously all better strikers than DCL though right? Obviously they shouldn't have been sniffing close to double figures if Dom couldn't manage it under Dyche.

Oh wait.

All those players bury the majority of chances Dom got under Dyche.

I’ve not seen anything since Rafas first 4/5 games to say he is any good, or likely to re create pre injury form. Will always like him for the effort and the improvement he made up to that injury. But he’s not as good as Beto, and that should be the minimum for the amount of money I guess he asking for.

Think he was injured after that period right? Rumours were that Benitez tried rushing him back which compounded matters. Did the same with Torres apparently.
