2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

There was one part where he was talking about Seamus being a hugely influential figure behind the scenes (which I am not disputing, btw) and how there have been countless times when he's needed to step in and rally the troops. Jake, the presenter, asked if he'd share one specific example of when that happened, and he wasn't able to give one. Haha.

He also talked about how some of his non-football activities might have come out at inconvenient times, without being too specific, but it was clear it was about him dressing up like a little girl at a time when he was either constantly injured or just playing crap. Can't help but feel this podcast is another example of bad timing!
Can’t help but feel you are just an ignorant bell

why is he on a high performance podcast? must be agent hawking him about...
Whatever about the High Performance podcast, he looked a bit high on that.

To be fair to the lad, he seems the self-reflective type, and it's clear he regretted the timing of the Britney Spears fashion spread episode. I really think we need to move him on (we need much better and he needs to go somewhere and dream it all up again), but I think he's a likeable fella who found himself in a situation, through no fault of his own, where he was sinking rather than swimming.

Good luck to him in the future.

Interesting veiled barb at Benitez/Lampard there re: injuries and not being protected more.

Comes across well. Makes some great points that I think we forget - these are young men who are still learning about themselves and life. Easy to forget when they make a mistake or do/say something daft.
He should tell his mrs. She makes mistakes every week on social media.

I mean Sean Dyche was obviously a great manager for strikers to play under. Look at all the goals his other strikers scored in that period... Oh wait.

I can’t stand Dyche but Chris Wood scored double figures every season under him.

DCL’s record in real football matches in front of fans under a succession of different managers is an absolute embarrassment. He just isn’t very good and at 28 years old it’s just time to accept it really.

You are a scout, spot the players that have just been transferred for 38 million and 62 million in this game giving their all.

Aye, its a very raw video. It feels to me like hes letting it all out before he leaves, nothing about the video encourages me to believe hes going to sign a new contract.

I like DCL he does a lot of good things just finishing isn’t one of them. I never back him to score a 1 on 1 and he hardly ever does.

I watched a video years ago with him Rooney and klaassen doing finishing drills. He was young but he was way behind them. sadly he has never seem to improve there. I think it’s just instinct for some players tho like the Yak and Lukaku.
