2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Do you think thats an accurate representation of our fanbase? A faceless idiot online.
Granted i dont think he'll go down as a fans favourite but he's also done ok out of Everton. We've got very little bang for our buck for about 5 years.
I'm not sure that's true about 'bang for our buck' but I'm knackered and can't be arsed to argue.

Us not creating anything, dycheball, injured loads are excuses used over and over as to why he barely scores. When in reality despite the three things listed above calvert lewin nearly every season is near the top or top of the rankings for most big opportunities missed in both the prem and european big leagues. For a team that barely creates thats some going

Honestly find it absolutely mental people want him to stay, if we are to improve and try for top 10 then european spots he should be nowhere near the starting 11 and his wages will be far to much to be a bit part sub.

Well im not here to argue mate im just saying what i see. I think its around 10 goals or so from open play in about the last 5 years. Is there another club in the world in a top flight league that tolerates that.
I think most of us appreciate the effort when he does play, but also accept that he doesn't contribute enough as he is always injured so has to go

Its not about the injuries for me. I dont think he's good enough. His numbers just dont cut it. In the last two seasons he's started 45 games and has 8 goals from open play. Season just gone Beto started 15 games and has 8 goals from open play.

Actually prefer how we play into Beto. Balls in behind because we know that’s the type of finish he wants. I don’t think Calvert Lewin’s hold up play is actually that much better than Beto’s (which is improving)
Watch Beto’s hold up play in the first half against Chelsea the other week and I think you will have a different view on who is better. I do agree though on which style of play I prefer to watch.

It’s been poor in games no doubt but I think it’s getting better. He’s definitely taking on board whatever Moyes is saying, I thought against Southampton he was doing a lot of sensible things. He’ll never be great at it but Calvert Lewin really isn’t that good either at it. His first often comes quite far back so but he time he’s turned around the CB has dropped off him anyway, he might have kept the ball but he’s pretty much nullified the attack.

Time for us to part ways with him I think. Didn't sign a new contract when he had the opportunity as he thought he was destined for better than us. Doesn't appear there are many suitors out there at the mo' so what are we the fall-back option? 3 league goals this season is the same as Keane and only one more than Craig Dawson managed for us in one appearance.
We've had too many seasons waiting for him to come good and pinning our hopes on an upturn in form "when DCL comes back". The last few months have been refreshing as we've succeeded with other options and haven't put everything on him. I doubt he'll ever be our regular number one striker again based on the last few seasons output.

I’d defo keep DCL but it’ll come down to wages. I can see the argument to part ways but still think he’s a very good pl squad player, if not guaranteed starter.
The issue we have here is that he thought he held all the aces and would have been demanding £xxxx last year to stay, given the club remained an absolute car crash. Unfortunately for him, we now find ourselves in an amazing position, where the future is full of hope and belief, a future unfortunately I’d be surprised if he was still here come September. Being the main man in a garbage squad on top dollar was easy enough, but the days of us settling for mediocrity are hopefully about to turn rapidly and huge earners with little output, will hopefully be a thing of the past. I don’t have an issue with Calvert Lewin, the stars have not aligned and the timing of everything will be to his downfall. I wish him well, he’s goes his way, we go ours, but I know which way will be heading to better times. I’d by some mad reason he does stay, his wage would need to reflect a squad player rather than top dog, and he will deffo seek a better wage elsewhere, possibly last big contract of his career.
