It would be foolish to offer him a new contract. Injured or utterly ineffective all season.
His stats of an overall of 1 goal every 277 minutes isn't too bad at all over his entire Everton career, but when you take into account the injuries that take those numbers down to 1 every 370 minutes over the past four seasons*, it's not looking good for a player on a downwards trajectory and soon to be 29 years old.
*The above of course should be taken with the caveat that we sold all of our attacking players after his best goalscoring seasons 2020-2022: Digne, Richarlison, James, Gordon, Bernard sold between January 2021 and July 2022 and not in any way suitably replaced. Only now do we have one (!) decent attacking midfielder on the books in Ndiaye, with Alcaraz hopefully joining soon.
Still, 1.5m bargain buy who was promoted to key striker for half a decade because the club was so badly run. The boy has done well and would leave with all of our best wishes.

I’d prefer sell the thin skinned fans that hate him and go on about his missus being mouthy and spend years moaning about him

There is a big part of me that really wants him to stay fit and start building up confidence, with us. You look at some goals he has scored, Spurs this season, Palace at home when he nicked it through and finished cooly, West Ham away, a couple of seasons back (maybe under Ancelotti?) was a great finish from an acute angle and you think 'For god sake, why can't you do that more regularly. Then there was the period with the service and the poacher style goals. He has shown, far, far too infrequently, that he can be a goal scorer. If we also then include the headed goals that he has scored as well, like that Palace game and Liverpool.
Although, the ship has sailed I think. Through various reasons the confidence is not there to be that regular goal scorer we need.

He misses far too many simple chances. Will always put top teams off. When he goes through on goal you expect him to hit the keeper.

Exactly this the chance he had late on Sunday anywhere either side of the keeper and he scores but he hits the keeper slap bang in the middle of his chest, an absolutely awful one on one finisher (he's not that good at any others either to be fair).
