2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Signing him up (if possible) is the clever play, wouldn’t be a massive fan though.
Yeah I don’t love him as our long term number 9 but signing him up and then selling Beto is better financially and football-wise than losing Dom for nothing then having to keep Beto because we’re bare bones up front.

In an ideal world you replace both but maybe too much to do in one summer with so many other gaps to fill.

Ah, so the logic is when it goes pear-shaped Dominic Cardboard-Cutout will be our hard-working, hold-the-ball-up, get-us-up-the-field saviour?
And the fact that he is mediocre at best and couldn't finish a 1 on 1 even if it was a 1 on 0 doesn't come into your reckoning?
Interesting logic that Francis.
Liverpool have just waltzed the league without a striker pal. Almost like finishing a 1 on 1 isn't the be all end all.

Do you even support Everton pal?

You clearly don't know your history from that post. I don't see many clamouring for Coleman to be signed right now so this post is bizarre.
i know my history very well, I just don't get the Coleman love in and the DCL hate, both have served the club well, both signed for very cheap fees both had injury problems but fans think DCL is a waste of space were Coleman who has always put Ireland before his club 1st is a saint and can't do no wrong, the crowd were even singing his name v Chelsea the other day

DCL has been tainted by the Moshiri era - whereas Coleman reminds of us relatively better times. Agree that both have been good value to the club compared to most - even allowing for injuries.

Has Coleman ever dithered over signing a new contract here?

In the entire time he has been here he has always been clear about wanting to stay. Can you say that about Dom after this last year?

Injury problems are easier to stomach when it's one of your right backs versus the fella you are relying on to score the goals.

Calvert Lewin has been here about half the time of Coleman and for half of Dom's to e here he has been injured and inconsistent. Coleman has given us more than 2 good years.
