2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

You only have to watch the game on Saturday v Chelsea to see what he offers the team. Yes he doesn't score enough and misses big chances but the balls that were going into Beto on Saturday and coming straight back (including their goal), would have been held up by DCL and playing other players in. Get a couple of quick wingers next season that can run off him and whip a cross in and we will see his game raise. Injuries are unfortunate but as long as we dont go into the season with him as our first choice striker, he is an asset to have in the squad and a loss to lose on a free.

Beto can't do the absolute basics, but that's no reason to keep DCL around. You only keep DCL around if you truly believe he can stay healthy and score goals, and there's very little reason to believe, at this point, he'll do either.

Keeping DCL at least allows you to sell Beto and then bring in an actual striker. For a club that's been trying to replace DCL for 3 years it's probably not the worst thing to keep him round for if it goes wrong again

exactly, this lad has given nearly 8 years to this club only 3 less than coleman and yet our fans want him signed up on another contract because he does a few fist pumps and says he loves the club, who has hardly played the last 3 years and when has, he is the weakest link in the team.

its not DCL fault he has had awful service and played under some bad managers, yes he has his problems as all strikers do, but is clearly the best striker at the club at present, this lad will score in a footballing team
Do you even support Everton pal?

You clearly don't know your history from that post. I don't see many clamouring for Coleman to be signed right now so this post is bizarre.

For your plan to be effective, dcl would have to be available and even though he went a stretch of time before disappearing for several months , he's way too injury prone and lackluster on the break to keep around at least in my opinion. Beto almost died on the pitch and he's more fit than dcl

It really, really isn't but go off chief.

Beto had his purple patch and showed that if given service he can score goals as well as Dom.
I don't agree with goat but dom even when he doesn't score can hold up the ball where Beto if he gets a through ball it's a 50/50 chance , dcl is like a 1 in ten ratio so they're both flawed in their own unique ways..

Ghosts can't hold the ball up, but then again neither can Beto.

We'll need two new forwards in the summer.

Wheres the logic in keeping somebody who we've been trying to replace for three years?

That he keeps being better than whoever we try to replace him with. Chermiti, Broja, Maupay, Beto, Rondon. All been signed post Richarlison, none of them are as good as Calvert Lewin. Thankfully it's now came out Dan Purdy is leaving but I would've had no faith in him picking a better striker than Dom, so id want him for when it goes pear shaped.
