2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Good interview and he's always seemed a decent guy. Personally hope he stays and we also get in another good striker.

Despite what people say he is a good player, not the best or a natural finisher but the rest of his game is good and has scored some great goals over the years.
I wouldn't say he's a good player. He's a decent player and if he wants to stay as part of the squad he'd be worth keeping. However he shouldn't be our first choice striker because he isn't good enough when he's fully fit, and he's rarely fully fit. I'd be looking for us to rethink our striking options, sell Beto and Chermiti, buy a new established number 9 and a young promising striker and keep DCL as an option from the bench and to play in the league cup and the rotation fixtures.

Too high a salary for a bench warmer.

Everton should want players who want to stay here, and are half decent. and are fully commited. - we seem to want to get players from the past or keep rubbish. we need to move on to the future. Lewin going by supposedly trying to get out and turning down A reported Toon offer months ago because it was not enough does not show commitment to me. It just shows with his injury that hes lost any chance of it seems getting a new club. You will without any doubt get a lot moaning on here if he stays then gets his usual injury, saying why did we keep him etc

Exactly this. Tarky got a big wage because he was off contract with no signing on fee... but has started every game for almost 3 seasons.

It makes no sense to be paying big wages if 50% of the time he's either injured or on the bench. And even when he is on the pitch, he scores very few goals! If Dom actually wants to stay, he's not exactly got much of a bargaining chip for the big bucks.

If he wants to stay then offer him a decent base salary with incentives....stay fit and contribute with goals and assists then here's your 100k a week.....

Injured or no goals and assists, 25k a week...

Spurs did similar for years and they were constant top 4 challengers
