2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It's worth pointing out o e of those players is an injury prone 30 year old who already played an entire decade for us and the other one is 27 and hasn't managed a full season maybe more than twice in his 8 years here.

Apples and oranges
when was the last time Coleman played a full season?
He has played 3 games this season

To my knowledge he has played about 90 odd times in the last 5 years were DCL has played 30 odd more games in the same period

Well I'm sure when Dom comes back and starts scoring you will be the first to come in here and admit you were wrong.
Well I don't think I'll be jumping to conclusions after a single match like some on here did and the time is running out for him to get fit and challenge for that starting spot.

With him not having signed a contract, Beto scoring for fun, and coming back from injury I fully expect he's going to be competing for 10 minute cameos with Broja (possibly behind him as Broja is ahead of him on his return to fitness).

But in the even he outscores Beto by the seasons end I will have to hold my hands up and say maybe it was Dyche's fault after all.

Don't make me go to the vaults for the Beto shouts @Goat

He has shown up a lot of folks in this thread. The word Donkey was thrown around A LOT. It's fair to say it and you've admitted you were wrong fair play.

Not me. I'll even vault myself and stand by what I wrote below on 27th Jan :p

If given the game time and service Beto will net us around six or seven goals during the remainder of the season ;)

You are making a ridiculous argument here.

Coleman is nearly a full decade older than Dom. Of course he's struggling for fitness in his 30s.

If you're genuinely trying to argue Dom is great because he plays more than Coleman than this thread is reaching new lows I didn't know it was capable of.

Great stuff, I look forward to it.

Like or not, there isnt a Manager alive who picks Beto above DCL.
I don’t want him to sign a new deal. I’m more than ready to move on from him and the agonisingly boring discourse that surrounds him.
Same.

I'd re-sign him on his current terms but there's no argument to be made for giving him a penny more than that.
It's still 700k a week tho so...

I don't even get the boring discourse, feels like it's made up here to be honest, not like anyone in the Everton camp is speaking against him openly, is it? If anything, no one is, I believe Moyes last time said he played like a "proper #9" or something like that? Dyche as well.

Remember some proper body language experts being around for several players, what's their say on this?

Don't think he's posted on social media once while the we've been on this run,not one congratulations for the team which seems pretty lame.

Full disconnect right there.
He also didn't post previously like, 2 posts in the last year or so, the last one is when he finally scored and it's just "up the toffees" the ones before are from last year and not football related at all - him and his wife and whatnot - and then from the 5 games last april.

Dom is far from great, but the same goes for Coleman.

My original point is Dom does get a raw deal from a number of fans, to me personally is unjustified, it is just a shame he got injured in Moyes 2nd game.

I stand by my point he will score goals in the current team

why the hatred for this guy and the love in for Coleman.

Both signed for cheap fees
both given their best years
both injury prone Coleman more than DCL
both love playing for the blues
Coleman has a song DCL does not
Coleman has always put international career before club, hence still not retired

People always say DCL is stealing a living yet Coleman sits in the background making his millions

When Son broke Gomes leg, our captain yes that right our captain went over to see if he was OK 🤔
Then fans say make sure Coleman plays last game at Goodison and 1st Game at Bramley Moor 🤔

Also not seen any social media posts from Coleman lately with regards to our good form.

But let's go on hounding a guy out who has had scraps to feed off when playing for some shocking managers over the past 5 years.

one last thing DCL scores goals in this current set up under Moyes

You and your anti-Irish agent once again?

No need to bring Seamus into this at all. DCL has had some great highs and now some lows. Just move on.

Prior to Moyes appointment? Sure. In Beto's current form? Dom would not get a look. Beto offers an incredible threat in behind atm. It's a small sample size but based on the here and now I disagree. If Beto wasn't improving his holdup play like he has then maybe there is an argument. The question with prolific players is whether they can maintain consistency or not. Even in Beto's worst finishing performance he created 3 great chances for himself. That counts for something.

Lets hope Beto can continue this recent very fine form and stays injury free.
