Hopefully he can get himself fit before too much longer and that with Moyes now in charge he can start scoring and get back a feeling for playing for Everton. I just get the impression that he sees himself as a player who could win something or play in Europe, that wasn’t going to happen under Morshiri and the succession of managers that he put in place. Maybe now he can see a path to a more successful future for the club. Unfortunately I think it will depend on who comes looking for him, if he is offered more money I think he will be away.

All good mate. I get where you are coming from. As I said to GOAT I am also skeptical of his injury history which would make a big money deal more risky. I think we really need to see if Beto can improve in his role then go from there. We can analyze it at the end of the season.
We aint getting better for less than 5m a year, which is what he will cost us. IMO.

Stick a couple of ballers alongside Beto AND DCL and win the lot.

Still a huge fan of DCL and hope we give him an extension.
We do need another forward though - one who plays the traditional 9 role.
Shame we didn't get Wilson or Welbeck a couple of years ago.
I'd still take either one. Both guarantee 10-15 goals per season I reckon.

DCL signed from Sheffield United as a kid, a million quid, played as striker in some horrendous teams managed by some of our worst managers, 70% of his time at club he’s been completely isolated with no support. Scored some vital goals and had the 3rd best individual scoring season we’ve seen in PL after Lukaku and Yakubu. For the outlay and wage of his initial contract, mix it with his mental strength of coming back from one truly horrendous injury he deserves no stick and owes us very little when you see how high some other former players are held. Take Rodriguez for example, a million a month, 10 good games and there’s still Everton fans who’d have him back now.

Without DCL we wouldn’t be in the PL. the palace goal and his individual performance in Dyche’ first game v Arsenal, take either of them performances away and we’re playing Luton away today.

He’s given best part of 10 years to the club. Because Beto is scoring (and we’ve all seen purple patches) but the irony is Beto has probably already cost the club more in 18 months.

Not a slant at Beto, just a bit of perspective for DCL.

You’re working under the presumption without DCL we’d of had no striker at all. If there was no DCL we’d of properly invested in another striker years ago (which we should of done anyway)

Im working on what we know. Our recent history with strikers is abysmal. We fluked Lukaku when we wanted BA, after that there’s absolutely no evidence that we’d of got a striker to save all our woes, don’t forget that Moyes would still be selecting DCL if he didn’t get injured, which I assume is based on what he sees in training.

Don’t be fooled in to thinking that Beto is a long term solution. He won’t be.
