I don't know. When you're parading around in skirts and whatnot, it's certainly not to avoid attracting attention. He's certainly asking for the spotlight. Well, he has it now. I couldn't care less what he wears once he does the job on the pitch. But I won't be making excuses for him either. He needs to start scoring goals now - and he's due one today. Good luck to the lad.

Oh, so he needs to play better than anyone else because of how he dresses, then?

I think he’s more saying he’s gone looking for attention and he’s got it.
If you don’t want to be in the spotlight you don’t choose to dress up on front pages of fashion mags and go on sky sports as a pundit.
The lads a star, he’s handsome, speaks well and says the right things and he’s choosing to be a star - good for him! One thing that comes with stardom is extra critical press if you don’t perform though… ask David Beckham after his England red card!

There’s nothing rational about fans demanding more of him because of how he dresses.

Yes but I didn’t get involved in this conversation to counter your point. I was referring to the other poster saying he “needs to,” score today. He doesn’t. He doesn’t owe us a jot more because of how he chooses to dress outside of work.
 
Seems like he's forgotten what he's best at and that's getting in the box and getting those tap-in goals. Too often he's been drifitng when you're screaming out for him to get in the box and make a nuisance of himself. The goals will come soon enough I'm sure.

True. And the rest of the time? Don't get me wrong I really like him as a player, and I'll defend him against the naysayers on here, but that half was an odd one for him.
