Thought the issue was that you wanted a "top striker".

We don’t deserve nice things at this club, when we get them we do our best to get rid.

We had Luakaku, and a lot of fans didn’t seem to want him anymore (I wasn’t a fan of his behaviour), we got rid then had the likes of Niasse, Tosun, now Rondon, and we managed to get DCL to start scoring and now a lot want him gone too. I wouldn’t trust us to get a better replacement.
I could probably say the same for Stones, Barkley too.

But why if none of them are better than what we have? (And the examples you mentioned are not better. Vardy was, but we aren't signing a 34 year old on the decline to replace DCL and if we do, then it's a travesty)

Worried he could be wounded now. Lots of layoffs in quick succession at a young age for him are really concerning. Hope he can bounce back.

In the last 30 years, only Yakubu, Lukaku and now DCL have gone over 20 goals a season....only 3 players. Why would we not want to try everything to hang on to him?

Because according to some he isn't a top striker, and there's hordes of top strikers clamouring to play for us from abroad.

Oh and because he hates Liverpool but loves London.

Or something along those lines anyway.

Yakubu was the last striker we had where I was confident he’d score given a chance.
