Maybe the broken toe was worse than thought then the quad injury on top of it?
Nope, our medical staff did what they did with Gbamin (a quad injury) and tried to avoid surgery by thinking rest would be fine.
The issue with the toe injury was that he wasn't training in the first bit of the season. So he wasn't really fit.
He rested up from that over the first international break, went into training and then as he was playing catch up, went and sustained the quad injury. It's all about training loads and clearly we pushed him too hard as he hadn't had a pre-season.
Then, our crackpot medical staff said rest was fine. He comes back after 2 weeks and, lo and behold, aggravates the injury and now it's basically waiting to see if surgery is the only answer. If it is, it's gonna be three months.
The medical team have been atrocious, again.
