It’s honestly almost like he’s been told to just pack it in so someone else can buy him at a cheaper cost in the summer. Awful performance again. I’d rather have Rondon in his place and he’s made of cement

Mate kept watching him at the game, jog jog and jog. That's it lads at the game saying he doesn't want to get injured might jeopardise a move
 
Only possible excuse I can give is after the reoccurring thigh injury maybe he's subconsciously worried about it going again as thigh injuries are notorious for reoccurring from high impact / running.

Sturridge was a sublime CF but after numerous injuries it became psychological as much physical.

I would still sell in the summer but who knows whats going on.
 

No one knows what’s going on in his life / is he playing though the pain / is he struggling to get consistent training in?

In my opinion he obviously nowhere near where he has been last season - but due to the euros he had no pre season, was rushed back and got a serious injury that he’s struggled to recover from.

This week he has played three games back to back, when he obviously hasn’t got the fitness in him to do so which was evident today.

I think it’s true that he’s been poor in general - his touch has been off and he hasn’t had many chances to speak of. He doesn’t seem the type to sulk and not put the effort in, I think he’s trying the best he can - just hasn’t got it in him atm.

Goals would obviously be great, but we just want 100% effort to get us out of this. The harder you work the luckier you get.

I still think he looks like he has a move in mind. He can do better than recent performances.

So much wrong with his tweet.

1. People choose what they want to read? Don't do countless interviews if your uppity about your words being misused.

2. Don't put your on pitch conduct on a pedastal. It's beyond poor and I wouldn't highlight the fact its in your control.

3. This club whom has shaped you into the man you are today. If you think that then tell your PR people to get your interviews out at a more appropriate time than when individuals jobs are on the precipice of being lost.

4. Less talking and more goals.

I'd prefer a reaction on the pitch but in the context of needing to get a lot more from him, then at least he is not oblivious to it.

People might say we need harmony in our situation, but this reflects tension, and I think a little of that might be good for us.

We need fight, snarl, an attitude to prove people wrong. He has come out with this now so next step is to talk on the pitch.

He needs to take his frustrations out on the opposition, not on us and the team.
