Mad how he's suddenly back days before the window opens....
I've just posted in another thread. Putting my conspiracy hat on:

City are missing one ingredient. They have immense talent, but they don't have a striker who can do the basics. Be in the right place to hit a loose ball, pick up the scraps etc. DCL is clinical in this area. His weakness is taking on players/shooting from distance/one on ones etc. But City have all that covered. They so often pass around the box for what feels like hours, without having someone there to just "finish".

I'm not saying they never score in this manner, Foden did it last night, but there's many a game where they could've killed it off, if they had that type of striker.

Pep must know this. So surely he's searching for this exact style of player, they don't need more flair and skill. Torres has also been sold, giving them more funds.
We need to sell due to FFP. Suddenly, our injured players return becomes continually delayed and he's chosen for adverts (How often do you see a player for a mid table team do adverts?)

It wouldn't shock me if he's gone in Jan. Hopefully City and Arsenal start a bidding war.

Not while he is injured with what he has had a torn thigh muscle .....

Bored media hungry ex Arsenal players banging on about a player they won't buy. You don't buy a player who has been out for 4 months for the money we would want in January. Nothing to see here.

Disagree tbh. Firstly I don’t actually think DCL is all that clinical. Most of his goals are from his head when we bombard crosses in.

Secondly City create most of their chances because the nominal centre forward drops deep and joins in the link up play outside the box. They don’t often have trouble scoring.

Good point this. I dont think DCL would fit into the way City play, their ball retention is 2nd to none so dont need a cf who can hold the ball up. Im not sure they need an out and out striker/goalscorer tbh. Hope the Arsenal rumours are not true.

It means his recovery process has been way too slow and allowed to drag on.

If he's fit to play 20 minutes then let it be the first 20 minutes and see how he goes from there.

We cant afford people sitting in the treatment room all season. He has to be brought back and he's been training for weeks now.

Play him for the first 20? Surely the last 20 against tired defenders would be better no?

DCL will never be relevant to MC as long as Guardiola is the manager, and they have the philosophy they have. The only player they could adjust the system a bit for is Haaland, but he is a far more complete player than DCL.

Kane has been a player City have been interested in because he has developed into a No. 9 who stays between the lines. If they want a more classic No. 9, they already have Jesus, and he is a far better player than DCL in the way City play football.
