It isn’t a lie, it’s an indication that the players weren’t good enough to do what he wanted; hence the 3 signings he’s gone and brought in.

Hopefully a new striker comes in too.

You can't impose a style on a team when we have zero midfielders. If he starts the season, we have a defined style with our new midfield and he's crap, fair enough.

DCL is only shooting and missing his from the 6 yard box, god forbid he try’s a shot from outside the box, some poor grandma coming out of home bargains on county road with her essentials would have the wig knocked clean off her barnet by a stray ball.
Despite having a feeble shot?

I want to believe in DCL. I really do.
I can buy the argument we have no supply routes.
I can buy the turnstile of mangers.
I can buy the pressure
or any other reasonable argument.

i want him to hit the ground running and bang in 20+.

I’m just not convinced.

I hate to say it but if somebody argued that he just happened to be in the right place at the right time for a decent run of games, I’d concede.

The goals he did manage to put away were not clinical. Yes, yes, I’ve heard the poacher argument.

He has improved in the air but he was abysmal at timing the ball in the air, ABYSMAL.

I’d admit his stock has risen and there is potential.

I’d be lying if I said my gut was not saying SELL! SELL!

I don’t think we will.

I hope I’m wrong with my opinion.

I love his effort and for me, that is massive trait I’d look for in a player.

meh I don’t know

Our crap midfield didn’t cause him to miss all the chances he did get. 13 goals was a good return. The amount of misses he also had was somewhat alarming. Hopefully he can be more clinical. The doubts are warranted, however.

DCL scores as many goals last season as Richarlison why is there such a disparity in ratings as to how good they are??
Ted Lasso sort of sums it up with his answer of how he understands the offsides rule.

I’m paraphrasing, “I’d describe it like the Supreme Court in the United States defines pornography, it’s not easy to explain but I know it when I see it”

Great show by the way.

All fair points to be honest, I think he's had a few clinical finishes though, Newcastle first and the left foot finish against Newcastle again and Brighton where Mason slid him in, Does he need to hit 20 goals though? We'd all love but it might be a stretch too far just yet, I think over 10 consistently is a good start providing goals come from other places like Richarlison/Doucoure.

I think if DCL starts the first three games and blanks, he’s under real pressure.
There has to come a point where the manager has to play more of Kean, given the money we spent and the fact that there doesn’t seem to be any desire to sell him. Meaning that they must think he’ll improve. If Kean got the same minutes as DCL this year do we think he’d score more?

I reckon we'll sign a CF late on in the window imo - DCL will shoot blanks these first 3 or so games and the pressure will be on Carlo to bring someone in I reckon.

Is this under the caveat the first 3 games and big chances are made for him though? Or just the first 3 no matter how we play in them
