DCL is a developing striker, could have done with a loan. What he shouldn't be is first choice for a club looking to break top 6.
Failing to buy a proven goalscorer, a Dzeko or Mandzukic has resulted in over reliance on him.

Great call, surely these players should be on footballing pensions considering their age.

He doesn't score, he doesn't 'spread the goals around', we have kean a 28m quid striker on the bench. But still Silva keeps starting with DCL and we keep losing.

A 28 mill striker, who seems to be the only sensible one in regards to expectations for this season....
The lad needs to adapt, he's said himself he'd be happy scoring at least seven in his first year

Actually, this is an important point....when you first saw DCL run out with the number 9 shirt on....didnt you have even a little sinking feeling.....thats what our once great club has come too....

I actually got stomach cramps and a sick feeling. DCL as our number 9 in our near relegation seasons of 94 and 97 would not have been acceptable, but here with are... 4 years after Moshiri took over... with the worst first choice centre forward of any top flight club in Europe's top 5 leagues!

You'll probably view this as splitting hairs but you can't discount the quality of the opposition. Example: Lincoln City aren't Man City

Obviously starting against West Ham and obviously not scoring. I'd even bet on him not forcing a single save from the goalkeeper. He'll probably head over off a corner and lash a shot or two comfortably over or wide.

DCL9 came out on top of the Everton side according to player ratings on the game . Perhaps DCL9 is Champions League standard as he performed against a Champions League side. The argument swings both side.
