Poor Prince has had a recurrence of his back problem that’s left him unable to use his hind legs and possibly incontinent (hard to tell if he just can’t move quick enough to let us know he wants to go out or just can’t control himself.)
Seem fairly happy otherwise but dragging himself around is tearing his meat and 2 veg to shreds ☹️
Got him a wheel chair from Amazon today which he eventually took to.
Trip to the specialist on Wednesday and they already emailed to warn the £4k of cover might not be enough.
Sounds like IVDD unfortunately.

Broke my heart this 😢

Jet of Iada was a German shephard, born in 1942, at the kennels of Mrs Cleaver, in Liverpool.

He was trained at the war dogs school in Gloucester, taught anti sabotage, then trained in rescue and search duties. After, he was partnered up with Corporal Wardle, where they went down to London to work within civil defence rescues in the second world war. He assisted with the rescue of 150 people stuck in rubble of blitzed buildings, then returned home to his owner it Liverpool.

Jet's heroic actions didn't go unrecognised, he was presented with the Dickin Medal in 1945.

Fast forward to 1947, there was a tragic explosion in William pit, situated in cumbria. Jet was called up to help with the rescue of people, 104 men died.

During the search, he saved the lives of 10-12 rescuers, after warning them a wall was about to collapse, which it soon did, thankfully, his warning prompted the team to move from the area. He was returned home to recover from his hard work and was awarded with the RSPCAS medallion of Valor. Jet passed away in 1949, he was seven years old.

There is a memorial dedicated to him in Calderstones Park in Liverpool, close to his burial place.

Yeah it’s a tough one. He’s not been in any pain which is good in some respects.
That said he was nipping a bit this morning when picking him up which I’ve taken as a positive as he might be getting some feeling back.
Biggest issue is it looks like spinal surgery and they told us last time it’s bordering on 50/50 that don’t damage something and actually paralyse him permanently.

We were so gutted last time as he was in chronic pain and wouldn’t eat and when that cleared up we thought that was it sorted (despite the chronic diagnosis), so for it to come on so fast and worse in terms of mobility this time is real kicker.

Can you stop turning my dog slur thread into a post your puppy enthusiast thread please. Attacks and condemnation for all devil dogs in here please. PUT THEM DOWN.
You should have narrowed the title then!! 😎

I have GSD and Lab Retriever pups lined up for next month.

Since our beloved Lilli had to be put to sleep (liver tumor) our other GSD, Heidi, is a bit lonely.

GSD coming from same kennel as Heidi, but different blood line obvs.

Retriever is for Mrs BR 😁

Back to three dogs again soon DV!!
