I can't think of a punishment bad enough for someone that mistreats a defenceless pup. I'm very level headed normally but it makes my blood boil!!!

To be fair his original owner didn't mistral him as such, just didn't dedicate the time to train him/socialise him/give him routine. So by the time he was a year old he was outta control.

He got in touch with the shelter who called me as I have taken 'problem' dogs in before. Took 7 months before I was OK with him to go to his new home where he's having a great time.

All credit to you for saving the pup. My son has just taken in his second 'rehome' ( three spaniels - he must be bonkers). The poor pup, one year old, didn't even know her name. We thought she was deaf. They were going to have her put down because she was 'untrainable' when they obviously hadn't even tried! Two weeks in, she's starting to be recalled, sits etc. Maddening thing is, these people went out and got another Springer! Angry thinking about it!!!

I am Bully thank you, he’s really starting to come out of his shell this morning and yesterday. He was very timid the first couple of days but he’s realised he can see himself in the fireplace and likes to have a growl-off with his reflection

The best thing my lab does is when he needs to go for a toilet break he walks into the middle of the room and starts running round in a circle barking at his own arse.

Thanks lads, I’ve had a lab before and I don’t know if it’s just them or every breed but they seem to love chewing any wooden fixture they can find.

Dunno about every breed but it's not just labs.

My pup chewed my house to bits. Still got teeth marks in the PVA windowsill.

Over the years I have taken in five rescued dogs. All of them lovely in their own way.

I have also had five GSDs - two still with me.

I couldn't imagine life without dogs
