Does tonight again show a striker IS still our main priority?

We need a forward that is actually willing to move a little bit.
Tonight Saha hardly moved at all, in fact he only appeared to drop deep because play actually overtook him, because he refused to move.
With Drenthe, Ossie, Maggie we have enough creativity just no one in the box, so it's a centre forward for me that we need.

What are you on mate? Can I have a hit?

Neville's started the last three games and that's three too many if you ask me!

Pip gave us nothing going forward tonight and didn't do a lot defensively either.
It's been said here quite a lot recently, but the game's are just passing him by at the moment.
Damned shame really, I love the guy.

A couple of pints of confidence would be a good start.

Confidence is so low at the moment, FFS I barely even saw Neville point tonight. Hibbert looks more confident in front of goal than Saha at the moment.

I think Drenthe is the only one who plays with real confidence and I doubt anything could knock him off his 'most awesome man alive' perch.

It shows we need a decent striker , it also indicates how important Royston Drenthe is to us ,.... thankfully Landon can add to our options when he arrives

I kept my eye on Moyes tonight. He was close to exploding, screaming at players and urging them up the pitch.

So how can it be that his tactics are the problem when clearly the team aren't following his tactics properly, otherwise he'd be less animated on the touchline.

Screaming out for a creative outlet, cough Arteta cough, the fact we have to rely on Nevill to control us in the middle and instigate an attack is disgraceful to say the least. Our wing play tonight was spot on with some flashes of brilliance, and some $hite don't get me wrong. If we could get Pienaar on loan we could do a lot lot worse than playing him as our link up/ conductor to our choir of ragamuffins. Tonights game showed we need to play two men up front. Saha would win (the occasional) header which was pointless as it would be straight to their centre halves. We need someone who will run the lines and offer something on the break as at the moment Saha is becoming very much like Yakubu where he has to have the ball played directly to feet. So basically to conclude, Dear Santa, give us a new chairman, a ps3, a new boss midfielder and a clinical striker. Can't wait for january basically!!!!

Don't get your hopes up, its Donnelly and Donovan we pin our season on

Very true this. At times me and almost everyone around me were laughing desperately at his attempts at passes, tackles, even his pointing has become lacklustre. There was one moment when he looked to be going in for a tackle, hesitated, slipped and clumsily bundled into the players legs swiping madly. It's like watching a senile relative trying to get Radio 4 on a microwave.

Confidence.

Saha has been close to scoring in a lot of games, the nervousness from the back isnt' helping. A Moyes side was once a defensive powerhouse, and although never making millions of chances per game, the attacking talent werent wearing the burden of the front line and the back line.

Clean sheets give attackers some juice.

This season is a total write off.

Moyes would be best to play Coleman at right back when Donovan joins + throw the youngsters in for some game time off the bench.

If Moyes DOES have money then I hope he doesnt waste it all in January -- we're better off waiting till summer even if that means a low-ish finish.

Not for me mate.

I just don't think enough players were getting into the box. So often I saw good crosses delivered with no one around.

I realise a top striker would get into those positions, but I'm referring to the quantity of players. You don't see Robin Van Persie as the only man in the box for Arsenal -- he has support. I think it's a tactical thing. Maybe Moyes doesn't want too many people getting forward in case we're stung on the counter.

It's a crying shame as some of our delivery and build up play tonight was absolutely sublime. We do need a top striker, for sure, but there are plenty of improvements that can be made that will not cost a penny.

Bingo bango mate.

You could put Drogba, Torres, Van Persie, (insert top drawer striker here) and it wouldn't matter as much in our system. They'd be starved of service just like Saha always is.
