Does tonight again show a striker IS still our main priority?

Assuming we keep the same tactics then a creative midfielder is the most crucial thing we need, I should clarify.

If all of a sudden Moyes was going to deploy 2 strikers, be more positive or even say to his lone frontman: "Sod all the legwork, get in the bloody box", then I'd probably want a top striker more.

In an ideal world we'd get a forward and a playmaker in. Depressingly it is unlikely.

It's gonna be Phil Neville 'dictating' play from here on in... *cough*

thats im worried about, i still think we need one tho, whats priority for you(bar moyes changing tactics and not starting neville!)

Isn't tonight the first time Neville started in a while? Also the first time we won in a while? hmm.

What are you on mate? Can I have a hit?

Neville's started the last three games and that's three too many if you ask me!

occasionally i thought he played well, then i realised i was mixing up playing well with not being complete and utter dog**** and not ****ing up the simplest things, still great haircut... stuck with those 1990's highlights through thick and thin..

Haha. There's more highlights in his hair than his career!

It bottles down to the partnership of the top 2.

We dont have one. Our last good one was Yakubu and Cahill, now we dont have that

Saha is clearly doing a job to create and hold up outside the box, has done for a while as we expect Cahill to charge into the space in the box. It doesn't work.

So now you have Saha doing all that but no one in the box or effective in the box.

Ive liked Saha in the past 2 games. Hes one of our best footballers and most of any of our good football or play involves him at some point.

Its just having that extra striker in the box. Moyes seems not to like a straight up goal poacher who just sits in the box.

Beckford and Yakubu were great at doing that

Don't even know lad I've been trying me best to forget the recent games. I felt surprised when he started for some reason. I don't even know what's going on anymore.

Don't sweat it mate - We don't look like Everton at the moment....I get more joy out of watching my nephew play under 14's than watching the turgid ****e on display at Goodison

Not really, I'd much rather see a playmaker brought in, we won't create the chances we need until we improve our football and the positions we get into. There's a bit more to football than passing the ball sideways and trying to angle a cross into the box from deep.

Ssssssush dont be saying that. Our football is brilliant

It depends how we're going to play. It'd be really, really great (to quote Roy) if being forced to play Gueye made Moyes want to have three forwards on the pitch. Gueye, Saha and Drenthe up front isn't bad at all. If that's the case, we'd need to have three good CM's that can do each other's job and rotate. This is the one formation where I wouldn't mind seeing Rodwell, Fellaini and Osman together, all good on the ball and intelligent enough to play together.
