Do we need a striker?

Yes, and Neville and Rodwell can play centre back, NOT! We need players who can play in their specific roles, roles and positions they are familiar with. You say Malouda and Kalou cannot play as main strikers, well Cahill and Fellaini are not main strikers also. Fair enough, Cahill can play up top but he is not a main striker. Why is it too much to ask for greater strength in depth? This is why we will always find it difficult to break into the top four if we dont strengthen in ALL areas.

Cahill can play as a main striker any day of the week, his game is suited to it. He's robust, excellent in the air, decent at holding up play and more than anything he works the back four, he doesn't give them a minutes rest.

I know Cahill can play has a main striker, my point is that it is not his favoured position. He is more affective arriving late in the box. Like it or not, we need strengthening in all area's. Ok, upfront is not the main priority just yet, the right hand side is the biggest problem at the minute, but if we want to be a successful unit, we need to have more competition for places.
