Dive or not it certainly was not a red card offence. It looked like a dive but you never know for sure. Although that was a sure dive if Lescott dived right at the end.

Well I don't think it was a dive in the Drogba sense, but moreso in the AJ sense. I think we need to establish whether or not it was a foul. I think it was a foul because I could see Hibbert tug on Gerrard's shirt. So if it was a foul then its a penalty and its a red card offence - because those are the rules of the game.

There were 4 pens in that game but we didn't get our 2.

yes hibbert had hold of his shirt but did you not see gerrard have hold of his shirt to?? I thought it was 50/50 happens all over the pitch all of the time. the fact is that the jaffer went down (sorry dived)as soon as he got in the area. a delibrate foul is a sending off,a foul is only a yellow card!!how could that be a sending off?? christ i'll have this all day in work with the r/s

I think its the fact Hibbert was the last man and that is classed as a professional foul. Deliberate or not its still a professional foul because he's the last man, and thus a penalty. I don't think we can have too many complaints.

If that was us going forward and it happened to us, we would want a penalty.

Well its a close one, i think it is a diver in the AJ sense as in he was running with so much pace the slightest touch wouldve put him off balance, however gerrard did have his arm over hibbert before anything happened which shouldve been a foul. And also since when did you fall forward when your shirt is tugged backwards?

I know we would ask for a pen but thats not the point!! if gerrard ran in to hibbert would that be a sending off. last man or not it has to be delibrate!! never a pen never a sendig off!! clattenberg has'nt got a clue, how can he give that an not the one at the end cuntt

I think he bottled taking the shot and took the easy way out to go down way too easily. Not sure about dive in the sense like Jonny Foreigner might dive but dive in the sense that he went down way too easily. [Poor language removed].

YAP,YAP,YAP what the hell was that?? the insedent their going on about allen was nearly chopped in half it was blatent. was hibberts??? it was 50/50 your making it out like he went through the back off him an put him on his arse. the horrid tw@t want down like he'd been shot, you must have watched a different game from me. it wasnt one on one with the keeper hibbert was back their. never a foul never a pen never a sending off......sorry mate!!

Hibbert didnt really even make a challenge, they were running together and he went down way to easily, didnt deserve a penalty and hibbs most certainly didnt deserve a red.

he knows what hes doing, a certain bunch of players dive regularly and get awarded freekicks and penalties.

yesterday goes in the same book as the two sheff utd penalties last season.

wheres our hatchet man? when there is clearly refereeing bias then someone needs to apportion out some responsibility.

Subsequently, the wording of Law 12 was changed and the term professional foul was replaced by denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to remove the implication that in order for a red card to be issued, such a foul had to be deliberate. Currently, if a player denies a player an obvious goalscoring opportunity by foul means, whether deliberate or not, he is sent off.

Did you even read that page Sharpy??

Gerrard fell over because he clipped his own leg. Whether that was because of the shirt pulling (unlikely) or the other bodily contact from Hibbert (likely) is debatable. It occurred right on the 18yd line. I don't know where Clattenberg was at that point, but i assume it was some way behind the play. From where he (probaly) was i can understand his decision. The fact that it appeared he was going to show a yellow (common sense prevailing?) before Gerrard approached him is my concern.

contact from hibbert!!!! where?? this happens in football all the time players stay on their feet. he got in the area an went down......far to easy. if it was in the centre midfield do you think he would have gone down?? like fukk!! cheating tw@t. an clattenburg was about 20 yards behind if he carnt see from thier he should'nt be in the middle.
