Dive or not????

I think it was a foul because I could see Hibbert tug on Gerrard's shirt. So if it was a foul then its a penalty and its a red card offence - because those are the rules of the game.

There were 4 pens in that game but we didn't get our 2.

Maybe you can clear something up for me then Ghost because I could have sworn that the two of them managed to run for about 20 yards tugging heartily on one anothers shirts without gravity taking hold. Is there extra strong gravity inside the penalty area that caused him to fall inside whilst he carried on running quite nicely outside the area? Unless that is the case then you have to conclude that Gerrard made a concious effort to fall over once inside the area. How exactly would you define a dive?
 

I'm not saying he didn't go down, I just don't think it was a blatant dive. Every single player in the league would do the same as Gerrard given the chance, so they are all cheats.

Dont you get it!! every player might go down thats true, BUT ITS STILL A DIVE, no contact. its never a pen. hes a ball bag [Poor language removed] house jaffer. if one of our players had done it i'd be made up but its still a dive!!!
 

Sure, it's a factor in the modern game and many players do it. If you look at the highlights, Yakubu does pretty much the exact same thing albeit on the halfway line in the first half. Still doesn't make it right though. If a player is falling down because he decides he's going to fall down then it shouldn't be a foul.

As Abraham Lincoln said "How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."

hibbert should have earned it with studs in Galaa's calves and knees.

it was on for the penalty and no other player expect possibly ronaldo get pens so prolifically.
 
Ok I will say it, Gerrard is a cheat. But he's going to be gone in a few years, and we have Baxter, McCardle, Agard, Kissock, Rodwell coming through to grace the premiership for the next 15 years.
 

I see no reason why not. We could have 50m worth of talent there if reports are to be believed, and I truly believe at the moment we are closer to the supposed big 4.

Just shows how good are youth policy is. the r/s youth policy is to pay 6/7 mil on south american crap..thank god im blue b)
