Well I thought it was ok, not fantastic, but those guns were something else.

Anyway, these Prawns are on some kind of refugee camp, and one happens to have a spaceship underneath his shack. How? Where did that come from?

I have no idea. Are the prawns aliens? If so they probably have spaceships and junk everywhere.

It fell off the mothership - its mentioned at the start, they show footage of it. Personally I thought the film was very poor, it was trying to be funny and serious at the same time, and as for that south african accent (its up there with dick van Dykes Cockney one)- I bet it would make peanuts cringe.

Stick to Hobbits Mr Jackson.

The bloke is from South Africa mate. The lead actor Sharlto Copley was the directors boss when he started out at an FX company. Its his first feature film and he's not really an actor. All the dialogue was improvised in the film.

The director and everyone else involved are South Africans. The film is based on the directors short film Alive In JoBerg YouTube - Alive in Joburg.

The director Niel Blomkamp did a lot of short films like this, and the Citoren car ads (with the transformer cars). Peter "Lord Of The Rings" Jackson took him under his wing and they tried to make a Halo movie based on the game. It fell through because no studio would give a first time filmmaker a $100mill budget...so Blomkamp made District 9, his first feature.

I loved it. It wasnt perfect but was a excited sci fi shoot em up. Oh and the lead actor, Sharlto Copley, is playing Murdock in the A-Team movie directed by Joe "Narc, Smoking Aces" Carnahan.

I enjoyed it, but as daza says, they explained where the spaceship comes from at the start.

Hilarious when he started saying "fukk" this and "fukk" that...in what was for all the world a Liverpool accent. :lol:

Liam Neeson is Hannibal, Bradley "The Hangover" Cooper is Face, Quinton Jackson is Ba Baracus, and Jessica Biel is in it too.

Yeah, I found it funny too. I thought he was a good, grounded and likeable character in it. A everyman hero.
