How far it is and how much does it take for you to get your workplace from your home? And which means of transportation do you use? Walking, own car, metro, bus, ferry, train? Just curious because had a friend complaning about 1,15h to get there, which is 2,5 hours of his day wasted for no reason, so would like to hear about others

I have 2, an office at the end of the garden, and a warehouse which is about 30-40 mins away depending on the never ending roadworks.

When working in London I would get the tube for about 4 hours a day with my face in someones arm pit, fortunately I was always too hung over to be bothered.

15 miles and 20 minutes by car, although typically in the mornings I have two stops to drop off kids at school and another stop for breakfast, so I end up taking 1:30 in that scenario

..when I was working I got a promotion and travelled to Blackpool daily (from Liverpool) for over 2 years. It was a slog but manageable. Another promotion and I was able to work in the same organisation but they allowed me to find a base in Liverpool.

Those few years of travel were certainly worth it.

Half an hour to walk the station and get the train in.

£3.90 for the pleasure of constant cancellations and delays, as well as never getting a seat.

Would get the bus, but it’s grim at rush hour.

I worked in Croydon for two years, driving from Maidenhead, exactly 50 miles each way. Half the journey was round the M25, so on a good day the journey was an hour and fifteen minutes, on a bad day, about two and a half hours. I once did some consultancy work for a firm in Bristol. Drove every day for three months - 100 miles each way.

My last 2 decent length jobs complete oppposites first one 50 miles and an hour each way most recent 2.5 miles and 8 minutes each way. I know which was better financially and life balance wise!

It's 7.5 km to the golf course where I work; in the peak of summer, it takes me maybe 5 minutes (after I've picked up a co-worker nearby). Going home is about 35-40 minutes, thanks to traffic.
