This may be because I haven't been an everton fan for that long, but this defeat has hit me harder than most others in previous memory, including villarreal. villarreal was a dream matchup, but this was one that we should have won, this made a [Poor language removed] years worth of good football completely worthless. honestly, why did we finish 5th last year? why not finish 4th from the bottom, its not like we put the added premier league revenue to very good use. this game made me feel like all of last season was a complete waste.

while undoubtedly the team let many of the fans down as a whole, are there any specific figures who dissapointed you more than others (Moyes, Yak, etc.)

For me, it was Cahill. Cahill is my favourite player in the world and a large part of why i'm an everton fan. he knew that after today, he'd have 3 full weeks off, but he didn't [Poor language removed] play like someone who was playing their last game in 3 weeks. i've never known him to slack at all, but today i'm not convinced that he left everything on the pitch, he could have been more involved and more active, but he wasn't.

None of the midfield really showed up. Arteta tried but Osman and Cahill were below par. With regards to the finances however, lets remember that all agents know what tv money is sloshing about right now. If you look at other clubs those that spent big did so because of a sugar daddy. Very few spent big based on income from their league placing.

The midfeild and the deence are not working as a defensive unit, personally im playing our midfeild for our defensive woes, to many times our defence are left with a midfiled runner to contend with as wellas their own men because the midfiled are not tracking back!

Yakubu faking an injury in the 2nd half when we were 1-0 down. That tells me we are in big trouble.

I'm tempted to agree with you, he played as poor last night as when he first signed. I think he needs a kick up the ar*e.

I've been a Everton supporter for about 35 years, give or take. You get used to the crap and when we do well, it makes it so much sweeter. Keep the faith, one day you'll be happy again (y)
