Just been reading the Parker news on Burnley's website and stumbled across their ticket details for Arsenal.

I know they've got a much smaller fanbase and are a yo-yo club but apparently if you pay £150 for their Premium Membership (https://burnleyfootballclub.com/more/tickets/memberships) you can literally bypass their credit system and have first dibs on away tickets.

With them having an American owner as well, I wouldn't be surprised if we were heading this direction at some point.

I think it's just a one off isn't it? I'd imagine they've just thought they've got no chance of selling out a monday night game in London so decided to whack in an extra benefit to make the membership sound like good value when they come to sell it again.

because it is available for people who are using cash to side step the credit system the regular away fans use.

The fans who have credits should be looked after first. If any left over, THEN give it to the “tourists”

At face value it's indefensible not just because it denies ordinary fans access to the game

Nothing that an organised group of our regular away fans hasn't been doing for years.

Don't think it's a one-off...

Weird that they don't advertise it as a benefit if you can do it every game. I think there's a middle ground somewhere with away tickets to be honest, i'm not a massive fan of the credit model personally because it just leads to people hoarding them and nobody else ever getting a chance but i'm not sure what the answer is. Looking at those Burnley figures, 1750 points is just a STH with 5 years tenure and no need for any away credits so it's all relative really, There'd probably 25,000 people who meet that criteria here so there's no real need to offer this perk in a way that there might be at a club like Burnley.

Not really a "disgrace" more Welcome to the Modern Game.

Fairly certain a lot of fans would prefer to be back at Goodison with Kenwright still pulling fivers out the back of the sofa to keep the lights on.
People want to have it both ways. There's no way we can boost revenue enough to really compete in this league without finding ways to increase our takings from match days.

We've done well imo to get a lot of brand deals at the stadium, but the crucial money maker for a football club has always been and always will be matchgoing fans.

We aren't even in the top 50 above for match day revenue, behind some clubs that realistically should not be able to compete with us. There's no getting around the fact that it needs to change, especially with financial rules changing to scr next season.
