The most you can give Wilder imo was 4 rounds, even after the knockdown deductions, that's still a 114-112 scorecard for Fury. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a robbery because if Fury was able to stay on his feet in the final round then he would have won a split decision as he'd have won by 1 point on the card that scored it a draw.

God knows what that Mexican judge was watching, that score card is nearly in the Adelaide Byrd category of complete fiction.

I do differ from the opinion that it is only Fury can get better in the rematch. That was the best Fury has ever fought, not even close. His win over Klitchsko does not even compare to this, he just spoiled against Vlad and barely did anything himself, this time around he boxed an absolutely superb fight that I certainly didn't think he was capable of.

I actually think it's Wilder who can improve significantly in a rematch. He's never going to be a great boxer, but he's certainly better than what he displayed last night which in my opinion makes the rematch one of the best fights that can be made right now.
Who would have thought a match up involving Tyson Fury, normally the most boring fighter in the sport, could be described in such a way?

Hope it happens in the UK.

I just get the feeling if there was no knockdown in the last round then the British judge would still have scored it a draw.

Are the scores checked after every round? Even if they are I'm sure the money could've been found to make the invigilator look the other way.

The whole business of scoring is pretty shady, every boxing match is overseen by a Commissioner from whichever regional Athletics Commission has jurisdiction over the bout but if they get to see the scorecards at any point apart from after the final bell, truth be told I have no idea.

As for your point about the British judge scoring the bout a draw even if Fury hadn't have been knocked down, this should be mathematically impossible as Fury was ahead on his card by two points going into the last round. 10-8 rounds are only scored, if there hasn't been a knockdown, if there is a point deduction or if a boxer wins a round by such a landslide even if he doesn't get a knockdown that a judge feels like he desrves a 2 point edge from it, but this is pretty rare.

I never like to scream corruption after a fight, the problem with scoring is that the rules surrounding it are far too flismy and open to too much interpretation from judges. I usually feel like the really bad ones, like the 118-110 in Canelo v GGG 1 and the 115-110 last night are just down to sheer incompetence.

they hand the cards in after every round.

it really wouldn't be hard to cook the score cards tho.

I mean he'd have have left the last two rounds blank to account for any outcome. and then scored the 11th round level if no knockdown.

If fury gets a knock down he then gives 11th to Wilder. If you get me.

I'm not a huge boxing fan, but I was shocked at how technically brilliant Fury is.

The positioning of his feet, and his reading of his opponent is second to none. Pure natural talent.

about his 8 million pound purse...
"I'm going to give it to the poor and I'm going to build homes for the homeless," Fury said. "I don't really have much use for it, I'm not interested in becoming a millionaire or a billionaire. I'm a boxer not a businessman and I'll probably go down the same route as every other boxer -- skint at the end of it all. You can't take it with you so I might as well do something with it and help out people who can't help themselves."

Tempted to offer you odds on this to be honest , all of it to charity ? I think he’ll donate substantial money , Love it to be true but seems unlikely to me it’ll be his full purse .

Having slept on it seems Fury has taken his diplomatic hat off.

“I don’t know what fight those judges were watching, I’ve never seen a worse decision in my life,” he said.
“It’s boxing, it’s not the first time it’s happened but stuff like this gives boxing a bad name.
“You can’t take anything away from me or Wilder and you can’t let the decision take away from how good a fight it was.
“The world knows who the champion is; Wilder has been given a gift in his own country – he must be thanking his lucky stars because that belt belongs to me.
“He [Rochin] needs to be banned from boxing because he can’t judge.”

Warren is going to ask the WBC to investigate the result.

“Everyone I’ve talked to thought he’d won the fight.
“I was very disappointed with the Mexican judge’s scoring. How he gave the first four rounds to Wilder I don’t know. He must have been watching a different fight.
“I’ve spoken to Charlie Giles from the Boxing Board of Control and he will be supporting us. We will be formally writing to the WBC to ask for a rematch.
“The Mexican judge got it wrong. “I genuinely feel sorry for Tyson. I feel he’s been robbed and it wasn’t right.”
