The media works both ways on one hand you have an article written by Bascombe (a bad kopite ted) after being contacted by the blue union, then we have Bill kenwrights article in the mail.
One written by a man who's hatred of Everton is well known, the other by a devout Evertonian and club chairman.
Now who from an Evertonians point of view is going to give the more balanced view ?

Difference being was that the Bascombe article offered opinions (whether you agre with them or not) based on observable facts about the club. The Mail article was a full two page spread of sentimental, anecdotal Bill*****.

*Since when was the Street End awash with piss in the late 50's/early 60's Bill, you soft YNWA loving embarrassment ?

i think the lack of numbers will be attributable to those who have decided to vote with their feet, but also those who simply can't afford it anymore, irrespective of the tempting prices on offer. I set myself a goal of attending at least 5 home games a season (always the first home game), and as many London games as possible. Last season I attended one game all season. I didn't attend because I was in solidarity with the BU, its simply that I don't have the money.

I don't think thats the case mate, i think people are just fed up with the club and our style of play. most games are very boring and predictable. But as a said before the first 30 mins yesterday was good.

Who was making a comparison?

It was a statement of fact! Villa only brought 1600 fans yesterday.

But if the attendance was 5,000 more last April it'd only make your point about low Villa turnout partly accounting for the poor attendance yesterday credible if you knew that a full compliment of Villa fans had boosted the attendance back in April. Ergo - you need to have last April's Villa compliment figures.

As per usual resorting to insults, i have no love of the ****e unlike Bascombe.
The embarrassment from my point of view as an evertonian is to contact Bascombe with a view to have him support your cause.
Bascombe the man who once wrote a report of a derby match and never mentioned Everton once.(fact)
URRRGH !

Your hero in the national press, has Blues pissing all over each other at the ground, in quantities to come through your shoes. It happened at Anfield.

Is exactly right. Easy mistake for a man in his mid-60s to make. He spent his childhood watching and supporting Everton and Liverpool in equal measure. You can forgive the feller for forgetting which ground he was in when someone was pissing down the back of his leg.

The demo was making a point, it did the club no harm. It showed how much people care about it. The crowd was a shocker....but then the cost of me and the lad coming from Bedford yesterday, including tolls, tickets, prog, fanzine etc was around £150....we had a bag of chips for tea! Not cheap. Until we are sold we will be a problem solving club, sorting other team's difficulies by letting them have our best players. I thought we were brilliant yesterday.

What do we hope to achieve by all this?

It's just to raise awareness that:

- Everton were one of the last clubs in the league to have a 40k wage cap
- have finished in the top 8 every year for the last 5 years
- qualified for Europe a couple of times
- reached the FA Cup final
- sold players at huge profits
- regularly get close to a full house every home game
- sold the training ground

Yet Everton are always the most skint club in the league and apparently not one single credible bid has been made for the club in almost 5 years of it being for sale. Neither has there been a net spend on players in the last 3 years of transfer windows (thus losing our chance to push for top 4 and earn Champions League money).

Something is clearly not right and this is what Blue Union and other fans are questioning. The march was designed to raise awareness for fans who may not have been questioning.

There's passionate people on both sides. Personally I see it as a split between those who've settled for mediocrity and see BK as a decent figurehead for their version of Everton, and those that cant settle for that and demand Everton move to the next level and become an elite club.

I know who's side I'm on.[/QUOTE]

This is brilliant.
I see it as a split between those who are desperate for a quick fix, sell to the first charlatan who pops up and possibly oversee the demise of our proud club. Or, those who’ve seen a vast improvement on the pitch (from the Johnson era) and feel that BK is a safe pair of hands.

I know who’s side I’m on.

The spamming of the forum by attention seekers has gotten ridiculous over the past few days/weeks/months.
not just here matt on kipper there are loads giving it large and most of them only have a few posts, mostly pro kenwright but not all they must think everbody is to stupid to know they have there own aims and its not just by accident that they all appear.
on another point most lets put something to bed most the majority in the crowd didnt boo or clap just watched the game, this bull**** that 32,000 did either is a joke.

Was out in Bedford last night. Saw a car with an Everton sticket in it. And I think a fella who works/runs or whatever at The Rose was wearing a shirt. Must be some sort of blue presence there!

I think my definition is probably better mate.
