We havent given Lukaku anything that resembles service in the past two games.

He would have better luck ordering take out at 3am.

1) Penalty will not be given to us.
2) Baines will get hacked
3) Suarez will hee-haw his way around Jags.
4) McCarthy will bloody someone.
5) Tim Howard's beard will score the winner.

Unfortunately, I can see a 3-1 Liverpool win, which will result in unjust kneejerking on here at Martinez.

Problem is, we are early in our metamorphosis under the new manager. Liverpool have a genuine world class striker in Suarez and we look horrifically vulnerable in defence whenever a side puts us under sustained pressure, whilst not being clinical enough with the pressure we can produce ourselves. Lukaku has been horribly isolated lately due to Mirallas and Pienaar being off form, and Baines suddenly looks a shadow of his former self.

We'll be relying on a blinder of a performance from the likes of McCarthy and Barry to have a chance defensively, and if Osman starts... well, we know what'll happen. I'd take a draw now.

Liverpool will move the ball back to front quicker than us and score goals meanwhile Liverpool will have time to park the bus and service it while we go Howard to jags, jags to distin, distin to jags, jags to Howard.

Don't fully buy that we'll lose just because we're still in transition.

If that's the case why didn't we beat Liverpool En Transit last season?

Couldn't honestly call this one myself. I'm convinced it won't be a draw though.

More posts like SteveO's required...way too much defeatism here....it frigging Liverpool we're playing not Bayern FFS.

Henderson makes their first XI......i rest my case.

I would say that, on balance, Liverpool are not as bad as we like to think or as good as the kopites like to think. If we're not on our game they'll beat us. if we're on our game we should beat them

What do peeps think about the fact Martinez has said today that he would have no fear throwing Deulofeu into the starting line up for the Derby?

Personally I think the comments, said after watching a blunt display in front of goal v Crystal Palace, are more to do with motivating Mirrallas than championing the inclusion of the rookie spaniard.

After all, if he were going to play Deulofeu, why would he tell the media? Further, why would he tell the media knowing Rodgers will catch wind of it and plan accordingly.

Or maybe its a double bluff? To keep the kopites guessing?

Or maybe he thinks that the question raised will cause confusion, then he will start with Deulofeu

Or may be wont?

My head hurts...

Yeah, maybe.

Agreed The only reason we're thinking we could lose is Suarez. Take him out of their side and it all looks very different.

The fact that we haven't scored for three weeks doesn't help, but that just means we're due.

And how often do we lose at Goodison?
