A superb player.

Funny how even from as a kid in the 60's/70's, the class acts still leave an impression on us now. Teams were pretty much the same each week and only changed for fitness reasons not tactics so the same players were engrained in us footie mad kids. I can still easily recall whole teams even players like eg Derby County's Hector, O'Hare, Hinton.

Denis was the Gold Standard....along with his partners Best and Charlton. None left now really and I couldn't name one 'elite' Premier team of now verbatim. Times, hey.
Rest In Peace, Denis.

Football Focus mentioned there's a mvp type league football dinner lined up for a certain Dennis Bergkamp. Dennis who was named after Law (Denis), and went on to entertain and score in something like similar genius fashion.

Might be wrong, but I believe his parents wanted Bergkamp’s name to have only one ‘n’ but the name registration wouldn’t allow it so it’s Dennis.

Is it just me but as a teenager in the 70s the footie seemed so much better than now. Brutal but beautiful

Some people just command total and utter respect regardless of what team you support, and Dennis Law was one of those people.

His time at Manchester United was of course sandwiched between two stints at Manchester City as well.

Sadly he missed out on the 1968 European Cup win due to injury. RIP Lawman you're up there with George Best and Bobby Charlton now.

my Grandad came to the UK in the 60's from Spain and he had been lucky enough to watch Puskas and Di Stefano at Real Madrid. But he said that Charlton, Law and Best were better, his boss at work was a Man Utd fan, so my Grandad went to a few games at Old Trafford. He talked about how the 3 players individually were great, but together they were unbelievable.

The thing I always found crazy about his career, was that he went back to Man City and scored the goal that sent Man Utd down, but the Man Utd fans and club never held it against him. I suppose that is proof of what a player and a person he was.

When I was a kid the argument in school was always who was the best between The Lawman and Jimmy Greaves.

Denis was always my choice.

I wish Harry had signed him for us.

RIP Denis Law.
