Hardly a glowing recommendation, Doc :(

Sounds like a “swerve” to me.

It just means he's realistic to come to us, as if he did set La Liga on fire we wouldn't stand a chance.

He has technique a class above most of our current midfield, tho'.

Andrie, Beardsley and nev are without doubt the best players we have had in the prem

I hope you mean Big Nev, not pointy-captain-nev.

early Rooney is up there. So is our Tet. And of course Rom.

If he introduces the rest of our midfield to EPO it could be worth it.

This.

He was basically labelled the next big thing years ago, but spent way too many years just sitting in Madrid's reserves/loaned etc.

Got talent and lots of pace, but 17-23 years old he hardly played and losing those years effectively ended his chances of developing into something better than what he is which is an ok winger. Same will happen to Golovin if he ends up at too big a team also.

He's a touch more than an ok winger, he's proven he has advanced explosive technique. The Prem might be a good fit for him.

..it’s strange how few Russian’s truly make it to the top of late. Not sure if it’s a character/attitude problem when they move abroad. Mind you, despite a very decent World Cup, the international team has been in the doldrums for some time. Difficult to understand.

The fall of the iron curtain: took out so many options for players.

Not sure why but players from Russia/Ukraine never do well in the PL.

Remember how boss Rebrov and Shevchenko in their time at Kiev.

Rebrov was shockingly bad at Spurs and Shevchenko when he went to Chelsea was a top 5 striker in the world after his exploits at MIlan and was simply awful in his time at Chelsea.

Arshavin was in and out of the Arsenal side and Pavlychenko at Spurs flopped badly.

The afore-mentioned Kanchelskis being the exception to this rule. Was a long time ago now.
