Yeah but it will still be the same connector from box to monitor though. just depends on the connection in the back of your Apple monitor as to whether you can use your existing monitor was what I was getting at

Ah right, well I did some quick research and it seems you can't do it.

The only alternative is VNC, and login to my PC through the Mac, but then performance will suffer.

I already have a monitor I can use though, so think I am going to go with the £300 option.
